Vintage Dior Anniversary Country “Russia” Saddle Bag (2007)
A rare limited edition Dior Saddle Bag created to commemorate John Galliano’s tenth anniversary as Creative Director of Dior. Designed in 2006, the Anniversary Country Saddle collection consisted of 12 variations, each inspired by a different country that influenced Galliano throughout his tenure at the House.
This particular piece represents Russia.
Part of Dior’s 2007 Anniversary Country Saddle collection, the Russia Saddle is one of only 100 pieces produced. Inspired by the opulence of Fabergé eggs, the bag is crafted in deep royal blue with intricate lattice embroidery, pearl-like detailing, silver-tone hardware and soft ivory trim.
Regal without needing to announce itself, it captures a distinctly wintery elegance; almost like a couture object made for the winter solstice. Rich, ornate and unmistakably luxurious, this is one of the most visually striking Saddles from the Anniversary Country series.
